Welcome to the Iron Motorsports website......

We are one of the most energized race teams on the Dirt Late Model racing circuit today. Iron Motorsports' roots are in the dirt, and this team can't stop growing. Past successes in Street Stock and Open Wheel Modified classes were all it took to convince the Iron Motorsports team and driver, Jeep Van Wormer, to shift gears and power into the fastlane of Dirt Late Model racing. In Jeep's early years behind the wheel of a 750+ horsepower Dirt Late Model, he has had much success and turned the heads of fans and the competition alike.

These days, Jeep can be found all over this great land piloting his #55 Ford Taurus. Jeep will not be following any type of series in 2007, but will instead run an "outlaw" type schedule. The Iron Motorsports team has racked up numerous feature victories in their short existence, but none bigger than the 2002 UMP Summernational race at Hartford (MI) Speedway Park and the 2003 UMP Fall Nationals at Eldora (OH) Speedway. Both wins were worth $10,000 to the team.

Jeep has also made several Dream 100 and World 100 starts at the Eldora (OH) Speedway and Topless 100 starts at Batesville (AR) Speedway. Those three events are arguably some of the biggest races in Dirt Late Model racing. The 2004 campaign took Jeep out on the road with the Stacker2 Xtreme Dirtcar Series. Jeep finished thirteenth in the final point standings, while finishing fourth in the Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year program. The Pinconning, Michigan driver racked up three wins, six top five runs, and fifteen top ten efforts in his 47 starts in 2004.

Jeep had a very strong 2005 campaign, as he amassed ten victories, nineteen Top Five finishes, and thirty-five Top Ten runs in the sixty-two events that he entered this season. Of those ten victories, six of them were at different venues in three adjoining states: Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. In addition to those victories and strong runs, Jeep also made several high-profile starting fields including those at the 'Scorcher 100,' the 'Pittsburgher 100,' and the 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.'

In 2006, Jeep had a break-out year in the sport of Dirt Late Model racing! He reached victory lane on nine different occasions, while racking up twenty-nine Top Five finishes and forty-one Top Ten efforts. Two of those victories came on the ultra-competitive UMP Summernationals circuit, where he ultimately finished a strong runner-up in the series point standings to Shannon Babb. Another highlight of 2006 was Jeep's stellar performance in the prestigious 'World 100' at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The Pinconning, Michigan native led several laps of the event before finishing a solid third in the final rundown!

Jeep then entered seventy-five races during the course of the 2007 racing season. He racked up nine wins, twenty Top Five finishes, and thirty Top Ten performances. Jeep once again ran the entire UMP Summernationals circuit in '07 and parlayed three wins, nine Top Fives, and fourteen Top Tens into a fourth place finish in the ultra-grueling series point standings. Some of the biggest wins of his career occurred in 2007, as he won the $12,000 'Fall Harvest Shootout' at the Quad City (IL) Raceway and a $7,000 World of Outlaws Late Model Series race at the LaSalle (IL) Speedway!

When the IMS team is fully fueled with fans and sponsors, there may be no catching them.
